I’m a little surprised that so many media types are trying to amplify the John Durham investigation, which, remember, ended at no cost. Morning Joe gave the report the shred it deserved, but you wouldn’t know it if you turned on CNN:
Here’s Jake Tapper, treating this mess like he actually proves something:
The new CNN scandal:@jaketapper says the Durham report is ‘devastating for the FBI’
This is not the case. Not even close. No accusations, just partisan “findings”. And New Non-Journalist Chris Licht CNN’s Tapper Does Propaganda

Nicolle Wallace did her usual due diligence and concluded the opposite of Tapper:
Nicolle Wallace fact-checks the Durham report in real time, “Now that finding by Mr. Durham is contradicted by the DOJ’s own IG, Mr. Horowitz in 2019, who found that an investigation had been opened, was founded, it was necessary and then there was no bias.” pic.twitter.com/KDjDNrudWp

Rhonda Santis with the usual:
The Durham Report confirmed what we already knew: Armed federal agencies fabricated a false conspiracy theory about Trump-Russia collusion. It reminds us of the need to clean up these agencies, as they have never been held accountable for this blatant abuse of power.

Sarah Sanders, still lying down:
Mueller and the media have brought hell to our country and the Durham report is vindication for President Trump and those of us who have always said it was a partisan witch hunt. An abuse of power and a media failure of historic proportions, those responsible must be held accountable.
— Sarah Huckabee Sanders (@SarahHuckabee) May 16, 2023
Brit Hume, still brain dead:
The Durham Report should be a sobering rebuke to far too many journalists who swallowed the Steele dossier and the FBI’s ill-founded investigation into his outlandish claims. Think about all those stories about which part of the false record was vindicated. Nothing of the sort.

This guy, always creating his own reality:

Trump rages over John Durham’s report in all-caps rant calling Mueller’s Russian investigation a “treason!” https://t.co/3hRNc7wEr6

Marcy Wheeler takes it apart:
Others:
Biggs: Let’s also talk about the Durham report
McGovern: I don’t see any indictments. A number of you said there would be multiple indictments. Did I miss something? Have there been any charges? pic.twitter.com/qyP83w41bj—Acyn (@Acyn) May 15, 2023
Favorite part is Durham hammering Peter Schweizer’s book as “unverified hearsay information”. Chozick and Haberman take note! (They won’t).
—Tom Watson (@tomwatson) May 15, 2023
LOL: Not only are there NO CHARGES filed in the Durham report for opening the Russia investigation, there aren’t even any recommendations for what the FBI could do differently. Just that single paragraph on the last page that isn’t even new. pic.twitter.com/uAX0NPQgik

CNN tries to portray the Durham report as “exonerating Trump” and swallowed Durham’s spitting saying it was “devastating for the FBI”. Durham billed the DOJ for 4 years and flew across Europe with Bill Barr stuffing his face with carpaccio in the US and producing jacksh*[email protected]

The Durham report is a political ax. The only thing more pathetic is the outcome of his pursuits.
It retreads the same material that Mueller and the IG found to justify opening the 2016 Russia investigation.
Why the different result?
2 main reasons:

Once you get past Special Counsel Durham’s bluster, you find these conclusions, which actually relate to the terms of his appointing order:
No evidence sufficient to demonstrate violations of criminal law, no evidence, acquittal, no evidence. pic.twitter.com/KsYHZcS9kz

That’s my point. It was Durham’s job to continue. He tried with Sussman (who was acquitted). It was a prank, and Durham ended up getting scolded by the judge for creating a “show” by including information unrelated to his case as a way of laundering it to Fox News. https://t.co/cGyB7pyAYO

Then Durham tried with Igor Danchenko, but Durham used the exact same trial strategy that had just failed him in the Sussman trial, and lo and behold, the jury acquitted Danchenko as well.
My God. I’m starting to wonder about John Durham’s judgment. . .

But it appears special counsel Durham doesn’t agree with the ex-Rep. Nunes’ belief that the DOJ interfered with his work.
