On Wednesday afternoon, Veterans Memorial High School experienced a temporary lockdown; however, by 3 p.m. the school had moved to secure status.
As of now, the exact reason for the lockdown has not been disclosed.
Judson Independent School District (ISD) officials said that at this time, I can confirm the Veterans Memorial is on lockdown for a possible weapon on campus.
There was no active shooter or gunfire. The situation was promptly investigated and brought under control.
We have lifted the lockdown. Judson ISD PD is unlocking the classroom doors.
The district has informed families that they will receive updates regarding the situation via email, text and on the district’s website.
This is a developing story that will be updated when more information becomes available.
