HOUSTON (AP) — Jalen Green scored 32 points, six others scored in double digits, and the last-place Houston Rockets overtook the first-place Denver Nuggets 124-103 in their home final.
Denver came three games ahead of Memphis for first place in the Western Conference on Tuesday with four games left for both teams.
At 19-60 on Tuesday, the Rockets were 33½ games behind Denver’s 52-26 record. But none of that mattered to the upstart Rockets, hoping to end a tough season on a high note.
Denver got off to a slow start to the fourth quarter, scoring only one field goal in the first five minutes.
Houston went 16-4 in that streak.
