Sheinelle Jones is an American news journalist and news anchor. She works at NBC News as a correspondent and the co-host of the third hour of Today on weekdays. Jones previously hosted Weekend Today until 2020.
Sheinelle began her journalism career in Springfield, Illinois for WICS. Before joining NBC News, she worked at KOKI-TV, the FOX affiliate in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and WTXF-TV, the FOX O&O in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania over nine years.
Sheinelle joined NBC News on October 4, 2014, as the host of Today as part of Weekend Today. She became a co-host on 3rd Hour Today in January 2019, As the co-anchor on the Saturday editions of Weekend Today and the co-host on 3rd Hour Today, she was working six days a week.
She left Weekend Today on December 21, 2019, and said that she wanted time to spend with her three young children on Saturdays. In February 2020, Sheinelle had surgery to remove lesions from her vocal cord and remained out of work for six weeks.
