Director: Raj Kapoor
Lyrics: Anand Bakshi

main shaayar to nahin
magar ai hanseen
jab se dekha, main ne tujh ko, mujh ko
shaayari, aa gai

mainn aashiq to nahin
magar ai haseen
jab se dekhaa, main ne tujh ko, mujh ko
aashiqi, aa gai

pyaar ka naam main ne suna tha magar
pyaar kya hai ye mujh ko nahin thi khabar
main to ulajha raha ulajhanon ki tarah
doston men raha dushmanon ki tarah
main dushman to nahin
magar ai haseen
jab se dekhaa, main ne tujh ko, mujh ko
dosti aa gai

sochata hun agar main dua maangata
haath apane uthaakar main kya maangata
jab se tujh se muhabbat main karane laga
tab se aise ibaadat main karane laga
main qaafir to nahin
magar ai haseen
jab se dekha, main ne tujh ko, mujh ko
bandagi aa gai

Bobby is a 1973 Indian Bollywood musical romance film, directed by Raj Kapoor and written by Khwaja Ahmad Abbas. It was the first leading role for Raj Kapoor’s son, Rishi Kapoor, and the film debut for Dimple Kapadia.

The film became a blockbuster, the top-grossing Indian hit of 1973,[2] the second top-grossing hit of the 1970s at the Indian box office,[3] and one of the top 20 highest-grossing Indian films of all time (when adjusted for inflation). It also became an overseas blockbuster in the Soviet Union, where it drew an audience of 62.6 million viewers, making it one of the top 20 biggest box office hits of all time in the Soviet Union.

The film became a trend-setter. It was wildly popular and widely imitated. It introduced to Bollywood the genre of teenage romance with a rich-vs-poor clash as a backdrop. Numerous films in the following years and decades were inspired by this plot. Indiatimes Movies ranks Bobby amongst the ‘Top 25 Must See Bollywood Films’.
