Meghan King targeted her ex-husband Jim Edmonds as an abusive narcissist in his final podcast appearance.
While discussing co-parenting (or lack thereof) and her love life, the Real Housewives of Orange County alum slammed Jim for claiming he doesn’t care about parenting their three children, including daughter Aspen, 6, and twins Hayes and Hart, 4, and suggested they would be better off without him.
“Co-parenting, what is it? There is no co-parenting. It’s parallel parenting, I guess. I don’t even know what’s going on there, it’s miserable,” Meghan admitted to Tammin Sursok And Roxy Manning on the March 22 episode of Women at the top podcast.
According to Meghan, she and Jim use a court-ordered app to communicate. However, although she finds it “pleasant”, she doesn’t feel completely protected by it.
“It’s supposed to temper some of the verbal abuse, which hasn’t happened lately, and I’m exposing it on my private follow page on my Instagram,” she revealed. “When a narcissist is exposed like that, they don’t like it. They don’t play well, and they never play fair… It’s not like that’s necessarily going to change anything for my good- be… It’ll just show everyone else how he really is.
As well as feeling that Jim is a “narcissist”, a term he uses to describe her, Meghan shaded his role as a father to his children.
“I don’t think he really cares about being a parent,” she admitted. “I think he cares about his reputation as a parent. And so I think he’ll show up for the kids because that’s what a dad’s supposed to do, which is good because I think it’s good for my kids, for them to understand that their father loves them in any capacity.
She even predicted that he will one day disappear.
“Going forward, I see it fading a bit, which would probably be the healthiest option,” she said.
Looking back on the early moments of their relationship, Meghan said ‘red flags’ were rife with Jim, saying he love-bombed her with lavish gifts and trips when they started dating.
“I see exactly what happened and exactly how I fell into his trap. And I fell in love with him, truly and with all my heart. I loved that man and he cheated on me,” a- she asserted.
Now, years after their five-year marriage abruptly ended amid cheating allegations, Meghan has said she continues to be abused by her ex.
“He doesn’t think I work. He’ll say, “You don’t work,” or he’ll send me pictures of my face and say, “What have you done to yourself? You look awful. constantly mocking [of me] to date,” she shared.
Jim also tried to get Meghan to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).
“All I have is my voice. I didn’t get money from him, I didn’t get love from him, he always blames me, but what I have is my voice, and no one not going to shut her up,” she explained of her move against her signature.
Moving on to lighter topics, Meghan recalled a recent date she had with a woman.
“It was awesome, it was a lot of fun,” she shared. “I was like, totally open.”
But although she considers that she might be a lesbian, wondering, “Is that why things haven’t worked out for me?” she has since discovered that she is “not a lesbian”.
“I identify as straight, but I don’t really feel like I need to identify with anything…I’m pretty straight,” she clarified.
Then, after noting that she was currently seeing a man, she noted that she would not be marrying him weeks into their relationship like she did with her ex-husband. Cuffe Biden Owenswith whom she was married for a few months at the end of 2021.
While Megan was quick to say “yes” after dating Cuffe for just a few weeks, she admitted on the podcast that she “didn’t want to get married.”
“He wanted. He was like begging me to get married,” she revealed. “He said it was important to be a stepdad and not a boyfriend, and that [tugged] in my heart because I was a mother-in-law.
