Police arrest five after cop attack, two of them on the run

A new update seen by OccupyGh.net from the Ghana Police Service states that five (5) people have been arrested by the security service after attacking a policeman by beating him to a pulp.

The five; are 20-year-old Edward Boateng, 20-year-old Evan Addo, 22-year-old Yaw Kusi, 28-year-old Michael Owusu and 20-year-old Boateng Yaw.

Two other people are believed to be on the run as police continue their search and investigation.

According to details available on occupationgh.net shared by the police, the young men numbering seven (7) were occupying a Kia Matix taxi with registration number AS 9504-19.

Background

Police were on night patrols in Kumawu District, Ashanti Region, when they stopped a car to carry out a search.

The alarmed people in the vehicle got angry and then jumped on Corporal Sylvester Berhene who was carrying out the search.

All this thanks to a rapid reinforcement of the police surveillance which saved the situation.
