Chiara had previously had a tumultuous relationship with tennis champion Nick Kyrgios, 27.

In February Kyrgios had an assault charge dismissed by a magistrate after pleading guilty to shoving his ex-girlfriend in 2021.

The tennis star was at the ACT Magistrates’ Court in Canberra, where an attempt to have the charge of assault on mental health grounds dropped was dismissed.

But magistrate Beth Campbell dismissed the charges, admitting the seriousness of the case was “low” and saying Kyrgios was not at risk of a reoffence.

The Wimbledon finalist admitted to assaulting his then-girlfriend Passari on January 10, 2021 by pushing her to the ground after a heated argument.

Kyrgios said he was “in the wrong place” at the time and “reacted to a difficult situation in a way that I deeply regret”.

“I respect today’s decision and am grateful to the court for dismissing the charges without conviction,” he said in a statement. “I was out of position when it happened and reacted to a difficult situation in a way that I deeply regret.

“I know it was wrong and I’m so sorry for the pain I caused.

“Mental health is tough. Life can feel overwhelming. But I’ve found that by getting help and working on myself, I feel better and get better.

The 27-year-old world No. 20 has been charged with common assault after pushing Passari to the ground during an argument as they went out for dinner in the Canberra suburb of Kingston in December 2021.

Passari didn’t report the incident until 10 months later, when the couple separated after getting back together after the incident.

Kyrgios was in an on-and-off relationship with Chiara before he met his current girlfriend Costen Hatzi, whom he has been dating for a year.
