NC President Tim Moore accused of having affair, ‘group sex’

North Carolina House Speaker Tim Moore is being sued by a former local government official who accuses the Republican lawmaker of having a years-long extramarital affair with his wife, which ended their marriage. Moore is also accused of having “group sex” with people seeking political influence or favors from him.

The lawsuit, filed by former Apex City Council member Scott Lassiter, alleges that Moore “used his position as one of North Carolina’s most powerful elected officials to lure his wife, Jamie Liles Lassiter, a mid-level employee of the state government, engage in an illicit relationship with him.

Jamie Lassiter is currently the executive director of the North Carolina Conference of Clerks of Superior Court.

The lawsuit also names a defendant “John Doe”, an unidentified individual who allegedly installed a camera on Lassiter’s property at Moore’s request to “capture photos and video” that Moore could use to “persuade”. [Lassiter] not to pursue any valid legal claims against him.

Lassiter claims that Moore “aggressively pursued a sexual relationship” with his wife in a manner amounting to “alienation of affection”. He also charges the defendants with conspiracy and trespass and seeks compensatory and punitive damages in excess of $200,000.

The case lasted more than three years

According to the complaint, in 2022 Lassiter began hearing rumors that his wife was having an affair with Moore. Based on the rumors, Lassiter on December 21, 2022 followed his wife, who claimed she was going to the movies with a friend, and found her meeting Moore at a popular steakhouse in Raleigh.

“After dinner, Defendant Tim Moore drove Mrs. Lassiter, in the Lassiters’ car, to his residence in Raleigh, where they spent hours together and, after information and conviction, had sexual intercourse,” the report said. document.

“When Ms. Lassiter returned home in the early morning hours of December 22, 2022, much later than she had told the plaintiff she would be away for the film, the plaintiff confronted her about her relationship with defendant Tim Moore. Ms Lassiter tearfully admitted that she had been involved in an extramarital affair with the defendant Tim Moore for over three years, that she had engaged in sexual activities with the defendant Tim Moore (including group sex with others seeking political favors from Defendant Tim Moore), and that she feared ending the relationship with Defendant Tim Moore, which would result in the loss of her job.

“Fear of reprisals”

When Lassiter confronted Moore about the affair, he allegedly admitted to having slept with his wife for the past three years, then asked her “if there was anything he could do” for Lassiter, “implying that he could use the power held as president in one way or another for the benefit of the plaintiff,” according to the lawsuit.

Lassiter claims that after learning of the affair, he attempted to resolve the problems in his marriage caused by infidelity through religious and therapeutic counseling, but ultimately decided to end the relationship.
