This week on the Real Housewives of Atlanta, we “Keep it Gucci”. Will wearing vintage Gucci be enough to help these conflicted housewives mend the barriers that divide them? Give Sheree a hammer and some nails, and let her try to fix this divided group.
Drew meets a music video director named Rage. He somehow doesn’t know the movie Intensify — so that got me thinking – but Drew isn’t too worried. Drew is confident that he can help her achieve her dreams because he is one of the best in the business. She loves how he makes his videos look sexy and can capture the talent’s personality. Rage wants to include a roller rink in the video. Looks like it would be fun to film!
Rage then prophetically inquires about her marriage to Ralph and lets him know that if she can make it past the eighth year of marriage, she’s golden. Well, she didn’t – she ended up with tarnished gold. Rage wants to know if Ralph is in the best physical shape, and if not, he may need to hire some passionate talent. Drew doesn’t give Ralph any props, but I thought that was Ralph’s only positive attribute?
sanya And Sheree go for a real housewife tradition to get cryotherapy, which is so tiring. She shares that Ross’ business is “exploding” and he isn’t home often. Sanya tries for a baby, but Ross is MIA for it. Sheree is stunned by Rihanna talking about She by Sheree on social networks. Sanya and Sheree talk about the division of the group since most of them are part of Team Kandi. Sheree wants to plan a Gucci-centric event, and she’s confident she can mend those barriers.
marlo dating courtney since no one wants to film with her, and she is clearly extremely parched and has chosen to hold on to the rotten peach of this group. She lets him know she has a date her friends have set up. Marlo thanks Courtney for her support and help in clearing her records so she can have a gun to protect herself. She wishes Kandi had been a more supportive person when she lost her nephew. Side note: I find Marlo wants a gun in one scene and then gets upset that his nephew was shot for being an odd juxtaposition.
Kandi and Sanya discuss the alleged team building event which was anything but. She would rather be at an event where she is honored, and kudos to Kandi for being nominated for a Tony! Kandi thinks Sanya rode the fence, but in reality Sanya is afraid of the shards she will receive if she stops riding the fence. She thinks Marlo attracts attention and she wants to draw attention to things that Kandi would like to forget.
Kandi is moved to have lost her brother when she was 15 years old. She’s not normally a sentimental person, but this conversation is triggering for her. Kandi tries to motivate people when tragic events happen in their lives. She’s not the hand-holding friend – she’s the one who will show you that life goes on and help you see it.
Drew works with professional dancers for his video. Ralph is disappointed that he was not deemed sexy enough by Rage to be in his video. The man who was supposed to be in the video was double-booked, so Ralph just got his job back. Ralph does, and he looks good doing it.
Kenya meets with her doctor to see if she might have another baby. She’s had some issues with her hormones, but her libido is off the charts. Kenya wants Brooklyn to have a brother. She wants to use an embryo fertilized by Marc so that Brooklyn has a full brother. Kenya had a lot of trouble carrying Brooklyn, and the doctor warns him there are a lot of risks. The doctor mentions that Kenya’s delivery was the worst she has ever had. Why does she want another connection with Marc?
Sheree is hosting her Gucci brunch, and she has to find the seats and serve foods that don’t need to be cut with a knife. She wants to separate the Kandi-coated crew so she can break up the clique. Sheree wants to get back to the fun times and stay away from the negative. Kenya arrives with a bag that is Chanel instead of Gucci, so we already see that Kenya is not ready to concede. Marlo thinks Drew looks like a jack of all trades in his Gucci, and I had to laugh. She calls them all a group of pirate girls.
Sheree gets emotional and tells the women that they have to learn to coexist. Kenya warns Sheree that only Jesus can fix this mess. Kandi and Courtney get along well so they can move on. Sanya tells Kenya that she is a constant friend to her, but Kenya rejects her after she arrives in Birmingham. Kenya clings to Sanya’s comment on WWHL about his fake booty. In her ITM, Sheree says it’s not about squats it’s about shots, which I love.
Marlo just wants a different relationship with Kandi with their 10 year history. Kandi tries to reason with the unreasonable and tells him that she wouldn’t want her name associated with murder either. Marlo then spins around and throws Drew under the bus since she reported the “incident” to Kandi’s restaurant, not her. Kenya and Drew continue to speak for Kandi, and I would like them to stop because I want Kandi to be able to share her feelings with Marlo. Sheree wishes the ladies could just learn to listen to each other. Marlo, who is unable to have a productive conversation, gets up from the table and tries to leave. Sheree chases her to the parking lot.
Kenya calls Marlo a “bottom-up slut”, and Marlo tells Sheree that Kenya is just being disrespectful. Sheree then brings Marlo back to the table and convinces Marlo that she is capable of silencing Kenya. In her ITM, Marlo thought she was coming for brunch, but found it to be a crucifixion — and she’s butchering that word until production can help her.
Kandi thinks Marlo is trying to blame someone for his trauma. Marlo doesn’t want that bad energy getting on his Python Gucci. She expects Kandi’s loyalty, but she quickly forgets everything Kandi has done for her. Marlo then tells Kandi that she is selfish and privileged. She expected Kandi to provide flowers and pay for a funeral to show how loyal she is to a friend. Kandi is clearly done with this nonsense and won’t acquiesce to Marlo. Sheree is happy that she was able to make progress with four of the ladies, so for her, the covered brunch at Gucci was a hit…
Next week, the ladies go roller-skating for Drew’s music video. Marlo has her first date with a guy – who’s been locked up. Happy Monday, Blurbers, and have a great week!
