Mama June Shannon deals with medical issues in the season six premiere of Mama June: Family Crisis

Mama June Shannon and her family have a lot of drama to deal with in season six of Mama June: Family Crisis.

In the first episode which aired on Friday, the 43-year-old reality star and her daughters still have a strained relationship and seem to barely speak to each other after the events of last season.

At first, the Shannon family matriarch was seen moving to Alabama with her husband, Justin Stroud, without telling any of her daughters.

Her 23-year-old daughter, Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’, is still angry with her mother while raising four children with her husband, Josh Efird, as well as her younger sister, Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson, now 17.

This all happened as the second eldest daughter, Jessica Shannon, 26, became increasingly estranged from her family and, as Pumpkin suspected, was hiding a big secret.

The episode begins with Mama June having breakfast with her new husband and talking about the mysterious symptoms plaguing his health.

Justin – whom she married at the courthouse after being released from prison for breaching her probation – expressed concern and raised a big issue about their marriage.

“That’s not how I wanted it to go,” he said. ‘Like, this whole wedding, you know? And how was it. It’s not what I wanted.

June exclaimed, “You took me out to lunch to tell me you want a divorce?”

Then, Justin quickly rephrased and explained that he wanted to give his fiancée a real wedding.

Later in the episode, June seemed stressed out about planning the wedding — though she’s still sure she and her daughters will work out their time differences — while dealing with a severe headache.

The next day, Justin rushes him to the emergency room after he begins to experience loss of sensation in half of his face and body.

During a tense phone call, her daughter appeared worried that June – who has been sober for three years – had started using drugs again.
