Makayla Lucero is an American journalist and meteorologist. His passion is to interpret and articulate the weather to the public in an enjoyable and informative way. Currently, she works in a paper company, KLTV.
Her journalism career began at the University of Northern Colorado, where she served as a editor for four years. For her internship, she went to KKTV, immediately after graduating.
During her internship, she impressed many and this landed her a job at KLTV. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. Her research opportunities were many while she was still at university.
She visited Rocky Mountain National Park where she studied avalanche probability on the mountain sides. She did this by digging snow pits to learn about the deepest snow. Additionally, she traveled to a third world country where she investigated and researched flood management.
Apart from being professional, Makayla enjoys running, swimming and playing guitar. She loves when people ask her about the weather because she loves telling people about the weather.
