Chris “Ludacris” Bridges says he asked his famous friends to stop by his Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony – and they didn’t hesitate.
The rapper and actor received the 2,756th star on the Los Angeles monument on Thursday afternoon.

He was joined by Queen Latifah, LL Cool J, Larenz Tate, Will Packer and members of his Fast and Furious family, including Vin Diesel and Tyrese.
“I’m just so grateful,” Ludacris said. “I [texted] Vin and said, “Yo, I’m gonna get a Hollywood star.” I’d like you to talk,” and within 60 seconds I got a text that said, “I’ll be there.
The hip-hop star said Queen Latifah responded just as quickly, then joked that the quick responses might have something to do with the Hollywood writers’ strike.
“I’m not saying they hit me back so quickly because there’s a writers strike and all their projects are on hold right now, I don’t know,” Ludacris joked. “Support the writers on the way. Support the writers!
The “My Chick Bad” rapper co-starred in Fast X, which opens this weekend. Although he is best known to many fans for his music, he received a star in the movie category.
After taking the podium, he paid tribute to the people who helped launch his film career, including the late filmmaker John Singleton and the late actor Paul Walker, who will be awarded a posthumous star later this year.
“I wore an outfit with flowers on it and gave myself flowers. I give everyone else their flowers today,” Ludacris said.

He urged fans to go see x fast and credited Vin Diesel for the success of the franchise.
“Vin is the head of the family,” he noted. “You are the driving force in front of and behind this franchise as it continues to break various blockbuster records and change history as we know it.”
Ludacris also had roles in films New Year’s Eve, unconditional, bustle and flow, and the Oscar winner Accident.
The father-of-four was joined at the star ceremony by his wife and daughters.
