Previously in Chapter 36
As Lee Seon Ho prepared to celebrate his acceptance to college, Gi Sengu reminded him that he should clear the air with his father before he spent so much time away from home. Lee Seon Ho accepted and ended up having a blast drinking with his father, which led to a marked improvement in their relationship. The next day, however, Lee Seon was due for a rude awakening; his best buddy, Gi Sengu, had murdered his own father.
Lee Seon Ho was feeling down while incarcerated, when an old man came up to him and offered him the ability to exact retribution in exchange for making a pact with the devil. Lee Seon Ho agrees, and so begins his new life as one of the underworld’s most lethal assassins. Gi Sengu murdered Lee Seon Ho’s father, drugged Lee Seon Ho, and falsely accused him of the crime, resulting in a life sentence for Lee Seon Ho.
As we saw in the previous chapter, Chang Shik is angry enough to punch the poor doctor in the face since he has to be in bed for a month because of a minor knife fight.
