Kionta Parks wanted in shooting death of 11-year-old girl in Spalding County apartment

The sheriff’s office reported that they were looking for a man named Kionta Jahaun Parks, suspected of fatally shooting an 11-year-old child in Spalding County.

The incident happened shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday at the Northside Hills Apartments in Spalding Heights.

According to Sheriff Darrell Dix, the child was hit by a bullet meant for someone else.

The victim’s identity has yet to be released by the sheriff’s office, but the Griffin-Spalding County School System has identified her as a sixth-grade student at Cowan Road Middle School, and a letter has been released. sent to the parents to offer their condolences.
