Juror speaks out on ‘mum cult’ Lori Vallow Daybell – Crime Online

A substitute juror in Lori Vallow Daybell’s trial shares her take on the case, calling the woman convicted of murdering her children a “monster” in an interview with FOX 10.

Last week, Lori was convicted in Idaho of murdering two of her children in addition to conspiring to murder the wife of her then-lover and current husband, Chad Daybell.

The two children, Tylee Ryan, 16, and JJ Vallow, 7, disappeared in September 2019. Chad’s ex-wife, Tammy Daybell, died in October 2019, shortly after the children disappeared, and Chad and Lori got married just weeks later.

Prosecutors alleged the couple held “apocalyptic” beliefs and claimed to have seen zombies and other demonic manifestations, according to NBC News.

Following the sentencing, FOX 10 spoke with a woman named Tiffany who observed nearly six weeks of testimony from 60 witnesses. Tiffany ultimately did not participate in the deliberations because she was randomly chosen to be an alternate, but she spoke about what affected her the most about the trial.

“Probably the most moving testimonies that marked me were [Vallow’s] his son Colby and his sister,” Tiffany told FOX 10. “I just listen to them talking to him in jail and how emotional they were, and I can feel the impact that had on their lives. She has destroyed so much around her and has just destroyed her relationship with her family and there is no indication that she realized it on the phone.

One of the hardest parts of the trial for Tiffany was seeing images of JJ and Tylee’s bodies, which were shown in court. The children’s bodies were found in shallow graves on Chad’s property near Rexburg, Idaho in June 2020. At the time, their mother was in custody for obstruction of justice and abandonment of her children.

“And I started crying when they brought the tissues and the plastic bags that they were going to show in the pictures,” Tiffany told the TV station.

JJ’s body was found wrapped in plastic and duct tape, while Tylee’s remains were burned and not clearly recognizable.

Tiffany also recalled seeing Lori and Chad’s wedding photos in Hawaii.

“I was looking directly at Lori. I hope she can look at me and see my evil gaze because I was. . . it really showed what a freak this woman is,” Tiffany, who has a teenage daughter, told FOX 10.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, a juror who participated in deliberations and voted in the case also spoke out.

Lori was charged in Arizona earlier this week with conspiracy to kill her niece’s husband in 2019, the same year she murdered Tylee and JJ and plotted the death of Chad’s wife at the time.
