John Larroquette is a well-known American actor and producer who has been in NBC military drama series Baa Baa Black Sheep (1976), Boston Legal (2007), The Librarians (2013), NBC sitcom Night Court (1984), and the NBC Larroquette Show (1993).
He began his career as the opening narrator for the horror picture The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) and went on to appear in films such as Meatballs Part II, Richie Rich, Stripes, and the Hallmark Channel mystery television film series McBride (2005).

In addition, in 1975, he appeared on Sanford and Son as Lamont’s equivalent in a fake sitcom based on Fred and Lamont called “Steinberg and Son.” Dan Fielding, John’s character on Night Court, is well recognized. This role earned him Emmy nominations in 1985, 1986, 1987, and 1988. However, he declined to be considered for an Emmy Award in 1989. Furthermore, his four consecutive victories were a record at the time.
From 1984 through 1992, NBC aired Night Court. They starred in every episode of the series, together with Richard Moll (as Bailiff Bull Shannon) and Harry Anderson (as Judge Harry Stone).
