Jennifer Hudson is a noted American singer-songwriter, actress, talk show host, and producer. She has earned several accolades for her career and became the youngest woman and second African-American woman to receive all four of the major American entertainment awards: Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony (EGOT).
She rose to prominence as a finalist on the third season of American Idol in 2004. Her first film debut was in 2006 as Effie White in the musical Dreamgirls. Hudson released her first self-titled debut studio album in 2008 after signing to Arista Records. Further, she had her Broadway debut with the musical The Color Purple.
