Jeff Cox is a well-known American journalist and author based in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey who was born in Pennsylvania. He serves as a finance editor for CNBC.com where he manages coverage of the financial markets as well as Wall Street.
Cox co-wrote the 2011 book Debt, Deficits, and the Decline of the American Economy with Peter Tanous. Before joining CNBC in 2007, Cox worked at CNN Money, where he wrote a series of analyses that were the first to link rising ethanol demand to rising supermarket prices.
While at CNN, he wrote extensively about alternative energy and also covered technology. His stories are consistently among the most popular on the site, as he interviews some of the most knowledgeable and well-respected financial analysts and advisors. He is also a frequent guest on CNBC.
