Despite reports claiming Jamie Foxx is on life support after suffering a medical complication, his daughter Corinne Foxx released a statement on Friday saying the Ray the star improves.
“Family update: sad to see how the media is going wild,” Corinne wrote in an Instagram story. “My father has been out of the hospital for weeks recovering.”
She added: “Actually he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thank you for everyone’s prayers and support! We also have an exciting job announcement coming next week!
Corinne included a headline from an article saying Foxx’s family was “preparing for the worst.”
Although she didn’t include any video or photos of Jamie to quell the rumors.

The initial report that Jamie’s situation is dire came from Speed cameras online on May 9, and quoted an unnamed source.
“Jamie’s people are saying he is fine and improving as doctors try to get to the bottom of his issues,” a source told the outlet. “But he wouldn’t be in hospital that long if he was well. His friends and family are hoping for the best but preparing for the worst!
The story was picked up by several media outlets and went viral.
Corinne first revealed on April 12 that her father had been hospitalized.
“We wanted to share that my dad, Jamie Foxx, had a medical complication yesterday (April 11),” she shared on Instagram. “Thankfully, with quick action and great care, he is already on the road to recovery. We know how much he is loved and appreciate your prayers. The family is asking for privacy during this time.
Foxx was in Atlanta to shoot the next Netflix movie Back to action when he was hospitalized.
Filming was temporarily halted, but resumed a few days later with a replacement actor.
May 3, TMZ was the first outlet to report that Foxx would not be appearing on the next season of the Fox game show Beat Shazam because he was still in hospital, with sources urging fans to “pray for Jamie”.
Later in the day, the producers of Beat Shazam posted a statement on Instagram announcing that Nick Cannon would be taking over hosting duties.
“This season, not wanting fans of the game show to miss a minute of fun, Nick Cannon has offered to fill in as guest host for his friends, Jamie and Corinne Foxx,” the statement read.
Later that day, a statement on Jamie’s Instagram account read, “Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed.
Since his hospitalization, friends and fans have been sending their best wishes to the actor and singer on social media.
