Jamie Foxx was admitted to hospital this week after suffering an undisclosed ‘medical complication’.
The Oscar-winning actor’s eldest daughter, Corinne Foxx, posted a statement on Instagram on Wednesday night from the Foxx family, saying Jamie was doing better after being taken to hospital the day before.
“We wanted to share this, my dad Jamie Foxx, had a medical complication yesterday (April 11). Fortunately, with quick action and great care, he is already on the road to recovery,” the statement read.
“We know how much he is loved and appreciate your prayers,” the statement continued. “The family is asking for privacy during this time.”
Representatives for Jamie Foxx have not responded to Urban Hollywood 411request for comment.
Sources close to the actor said TMZ, his condition is “serious”. A source noted, “He’s communicating now, and that’s good news.”
Foxx, 55, recently filmed the upcoming Netflix movie, Back to action.
The actor was pictured in England filming scenes for the action comedy alongside Cameron Diaz. Netflix didn’t provide many details about the film, but footage shows the two stars walking through the snow in the English countryside. Glenn Close also has a role in the film.
Foxx will next appear on screen in the Netflix comedy They cloned Tyrone. The film centers on “a series of strange events” linked to an “infamous government conspiracy”. The film also stars John Boyega and Teyonah Parris, and is set to open the 27th American Black Film Festival in June in Miami.
