Jamie Foxx addresses hospitalization: ‘Appreciate all the love!!!’

Jamie Foxx has made his first public comments since being hospitalized last month with an undisclosed illness.

A post on the Oscar-winning actor’s Instagram account on Wednesday thanked his friends and fans for their well wishes.

“Appreciate all the love!!! I feel blessed,” the post read.

The statement came after news broke earlier today that Nick Cannon will take over hosting duties on Beat Shazam because the Ray star remains hospitalized.

Cannon will be the guest host for Season 6 of the Fox game show, according to an Instagram story on the show’s official account. Kelly Osbourne steps onto the DJ booth, replacing Foxx’s daughter, Corinne, as she stays by her father’s side.

Cannon previously hinted at the change while giving an update to entertainment tonight on Foxx’s health, saying he was working on “something special” for the actor.

“I know he’s doing so much better because I’m about to do something special for him and do him a favor,” Cannon said.

Beat Shazam premiered in 2017 and is co-produced by Foxx. Other producers include Mark Burnett, Barry Poznick and Lauren Zalaznick.

Cannon previously hinted that he would help Foxx, while discussing the actor’s recovery with entertainment tonight.

“I know he’s doing so much better because I’m about to do something special for him and do him a favor,” Cannon said.

Foxx’s daughter, Corinne, posted a statement on Instagram on April 12, revealing that the actor was being treated for an unknown illness.

“We wanted to share that my dad, Jamie Foxx, had a medical complication yesterday (April 11),” Corinne shared. “Thankfully, with quick action and great care, he is already on the road to recovery. We know how much he is loved and appreciate your prayers. The family is asking for privacy during this time.

The actor and singer was busy working on his next film Back to action when he was hospitalized. Filming was temporarily halted, but resumed a few days later with a replacement cast member, according to published reports.
