Two female health care workers in Florida have been arrested after allegedly recording themselves abusing an elderly patient with dementia and streaming the footage live on Snapchat. Jada Ari’ana Harris and Shy’Tiona J. Bishop were arrested last week and each charged with one count of video voyeurism and abuse and neglect of an elderly or disabled adult, according to court records reviewed by Law&Crime show.
Harris, 18, was also charged with one count of intercepting or disclosing wired communications.
“They actually uploaded it to a live streaming platform so their friends could watch it, laugh it off, as they laughed at this elderly person in his condition,” Sheriff Wayne Ivey said in a video posted on the office’s Facebook page.
According to a sworn affidavit of probable cause, Harris and Bishop were caring for a patient on April 3 at Market Street Memory Care in Melbourne, located about 55 miles southeast of Orlando. At around 9:46 p.m., Harris positioned her cell phone on the bathroom sink to record him and Bishop taking care of the victim and livestreamed to her Snapchat account under the username “Pr3ttyassjadaa “, according to the police.
The live stream was captured by an anonymous citizen and handed over to police in four separate videos.
The first video reportedly shows Harris holding an adult diaper and Bishop holding a blanket as the victim can be heard shouting “No”.
“Harris says ‘this is so embarrassing’ and asks Bishop to ‘take the live’. Bishop grabs the cell phone and says ‘everyone is laughing’ and focuses the camera on Harris and [the victim]“, says the affidavit. [The victim] using both hands, she grabs Harris’ right arm and constantly screams, as Harris tries to break free from her grip. In the background, you can hear Bishop laughing at the incident.

In the second clip, taken about a minute later, Harris allegedly picked up the cell phone and said, “This is so embarrassing, I’m sorry y’all, she’s embarrassing,” in reference to the victim, which one can still hear screaming at the two healthcare workers. As the victim exits the bathroom, she calls one of the workers a “son of ab—-,” police wrote. Harris then allegedly laughed and said to the camera, “Here she is…watch her p—— piss.”
In the third video, Harris and Bishop are said to be locked in the victim’s private bathroom while addressing the live stream as the victim knocks on the door. Harris reportedly said she went through this “every night” and called the victim a “psycho or something.”
The cell phone is set up in the victim’s private bedroom for the fourth and final video clip, according to the affidavit. At the start of the video, the victim is heard saying “help me”. Bishop reportedly responded by saying, “That’s no help to you.” She then walks over to the victim’s bed, removes the sheets, and says to the victim, “You’re driving me crazy now. Let’s go.”
The victim then attempts to grab Harris’ phone, but Harris pulls the device out and reads aloud several comments from people watching the live stream, including one person suggesting that health workers ‘lock him in the closet’ . The two workers then record themselves putting an adult diaper on the victim.
In an interview with investigators, the facility’s director said the day after the live stream, staff reported that the victim was not acting like himself, according to police. The victim reportedly paced around while repeatedly shouting “son of a bitch” throughout the day. Police say that during the interview, the director “cried thinking of the distress [the victim] was in the video and the next day.
“The only good news in this case is that the victim is now safe and sound with real medical professionals who are with her and her family to care for her,” Sheriff Ivey said at the conference. press release during which he referred to Bishop and Harris as “disgusting” and “despicable individuals”.
“I’ve asked our team to make sure they work closely with the state’s attorney’s office and the justice system to make sure these two can never be involved in any type of care of their lives,” Ivey continued. “I’ll be honest with you, I wouldn’t let them handle a pet cobra because it might accidentally bite them and die of asshole poisoning.”
Harris and Bishop were released from jail on April 8 after posting bonds of $6,000 and $4,000, respectively. They are due in court next month.
