Dancehall artist I-Octane thanks his daughter for not being more seriously injured following a serious car accident caused by a reckless taxi driver.
On Thursday, May 3, the 39-year-old singer shared photos of his daughter Dejay Muir and the damaged vehicle. I-Octane first gives thanks to God by sharing a photo of his daughter wearing a neck brace. The Hyundai Tucson she was traveling in was overturned after being hit by the taxi driver who ran a red light.
“A taxi driver broke the one-way street and almost killed my granddaughter,” the singer wrote. “Me vex yuh f$$k but me no swear cause GOD saved her life she’s in a lot of pain but she got life. Listen to all this taxi man/hustler in Jamaica…I’m from the street/ghetto and I understand that we ghetto people afi hustle, but please remember to do this without killing/injuring another human being while you’re at it.
I-Octane received a ton of support from his fans and other artists who shared comments on his post.
« AH KNOOOOO STAR God Fada Thank you for sparing his life Speedy recovery Bro Bro keep praying [praying hands emoji] We Dehyah pray too,” dancehall producer Seanizzle wrote. A Canadian fan wrote: “Driving in Jamaica for two weeks now coming from Canada most days is a near miss with the taxi drivers yah.”
It’s unclear if the artist is in Jamaica or overseas, but he’s been primarily based in Florida for the past few years. Octane recently announced that their new EP will arrive this month. Octane also recently had a lyric jam with Khago, which was cut short after the two artists traded several diss tracks.
Urban Islandz attempted to reach I-Octane for comment but did not immediately get a response from his team, but we send our best wishes to him and his daughter.
