Home chef Cooking with Ayeh shares her simple trick to make even the most basic salad better

An at-home chef and foodie has shared her simple trick to elevating even the most basic salad, and it has nothing to do with the ingredients.

Ayeh Manfre, who goes through Cooking With Ayeh online, posted a video on TikTok, where she said the best way to improve your salads is to chop anything you put in them really small.

This means you can use a spoon to eat them and you get a little of each flavor with every bite.

“Here’s a trick to make any salad taste better,” Ayeh posted with the video.

“The key is that you need a spoon, because salads with a spoon always hit a little differently.”

She added: “It’s because you taste a bit of everything in every bite.”

On this particular occasion, Ayeh made a Greek salad with tomato, cucumber, red pepper and red onion “all cut into small cubes”.

One of his other top tips is to soak the onion in water, which helps get rid of that “harsh onion flavor.”

In her Greek salad, Ayeh said she also included “juicy Kalamata olives,” which she chopped, along with crumbled feta on top and homemade dressing.

To make the dressing, Ayeh combined olive oil, vinegar and oregano.

Then simply serve with a piece of crispy sourdough.
