Prince Harry is seen as a ‘loose cannon’ by the royal family while Meghan Markle seems ‘determined to destroy’ the institution, a royal expert has claimed.
Appearing in the Channel 5 documentary Harry & Meghan: Is America Turning Against Them?, author Tom Quinn weighed in on the Royal Family’s current attitude towards the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Over the past year, the couple – who are now based in Montecito, California – have launched a series of attacks on the royal family.
In their Netflix docu-series, for which they were reportedly paid £88million, Prince Harry, 38, accused his family of having a ‘tremendous level of unconscious bias’ and said he was ‘ terrified’ of Prince William as he ‘screamed and shouted at him’ during the infamous ‘Sandringham summit’.
Earlier this year, Prince Harry alleged in his biography that his brother physically attacked him at Nottingham Cottage in the grounds of Kensington Palace and also shared private texts the Princess of Wales sent his wife about of Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress.

In the new Channel 5 documentary, royal experts discuss the Duke and Duchess’ falling popularity in the US and the state of their relationship with the firm.
Channel 5 royal correspondent Tom Quinn has claimed members of the Royal Family now view Prince Harry as a “loose cannon”.
He said: “The Royal Family will be deeply upset that they have this loose cannon, someone William was [once] near.’
Additionally, the expert believes the Royal Family believe Meghan is determined to ‘destroy’ the business.
Tom added: ‘[Harry] married this woman who seems to encourage him to destroy the royal family.
But no matter how many interviews the Duke and Duchess give about their time in the business, Tom says the Royals will never respond to the allegations.
He continued: “Very wisely and in keeping with tradition, the Royal Family [will never] say anything beyond things like “memories may vary” about these various events. »
Following their interview with Oprah in 2021, the late Queen released a statement saying “some memories may vary” on the various allegations made by the couple.

Elsewhere in the documentary, royal expert Richard Kay said Prince Harry “looked petulant” staying in the UK for just 28 hours to attend King Charles’ coronation last month.
The expert said: ‘It was reckless, it looked petulant.
“[It inferred] “I’m only here because I have to be here, because I’m the king’s son, but I can’t wait to be away.”
The documentary comes just months after a Newsweek poll found Harry and Meghan had approval ratings in the US of -10 and -17 respectively.
