Ghanaian social media influencer Mona Faiz Montrage, widely known as Hajia4Real, has been extradited from the UK to the US for defrauding older single American men and women of over $2 million part of a whirling lonely hearts scam, federal prosecutors announced Monday.
According to the New York Post, singer Hajia4real appeared in federal court in Manhattan on Monday.
During the court proceedings, Mona Faiz pleaded not guilty. It has been confirmed that Hajia will be released in the coming days after posting $500,000 bail.
As part of her release conditions, Hajia4real will be required to wear an ankle monitor with GPS tracking.
According to federal authorities, Hajia4real was involved in a network of fraudsters from Ghana and Nigeria.
