Genevieve was featured as one of the three judges on HGTV Design Star which was later renamed to HGTV Star. It is an American reality competition show that aired from July 23, 2006, to July 21, 2013, on HGTV. The series aired 8 seasons with a total of 63 episodes before its cancellation. The show features contestants as they participate in an interior design challenge, they are offered cash to create their designs and a specified amount of time and by the end of the week, a contestant must be eliminated.
She also featured as a designer and appeared in Seasons 1-4, 6, and 9 on TLC’s hit series Trading Spaces. Genevieve became known on the show for working barefoot and for her soulful designs.
Gorder later revealed the reason why she worked barefoot was that not because of comfort reason but because she never wanted to ruin her shoes. She is also featured on the spinoff show, Trading Spaces: Family.
