Although the film edged out the competition, it earned less than the $70 million domestic debut of F9: the fast sagawhich opened with $70 million during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021.
According to Comscore, this latest installment in the franchise played in 4,046 locations, for a per-venue average of $16,683.
Abroad, x fast proved far more popular, earning $251.3 million, for a worldwide total of $318.8 million.

x fast finds Vin Diesel’s character Dominic Toretto and his family facing vengeful adversary Dante Reyes, played by Jason Momoa.
The cast also includes longtime franchise stars Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel and Jason Statham, as well as Sung Kang, Charlize Theron, John Cena and Helen Mirren.
Directed by Louis Leterrier, the Universal Pictures release launches the final chapters of the Fast saga, launched more than 20 years ago.
The public gave x fast a “B+” CinemaScore. Reviews were split, awarding the film a modest 54% on rotten tomatoes. Among critics, journalists described the film as “increasingly predictable” and “steam-running”, but some still found it “satisfying”.
Elsewhere at the domestic box office, Disney’s presentation of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 slipped to second place with $31.9 million in its third weekend. Since its May 5 release, the film has grossed $266.5 million in North America.
Third place went to The movie Super Mario Bros.which grossed $9.8 million Friday-Sunday in its seventh week.
Book Club: The Next Chapter was fourth with $3 million in its second week. Evil Dead Rise completed the top 5 with $2.3 million in its fifth week.
