Fabio Paratici, Tottenham’s director of football, has insisted Antonio Conte’s exit from the club was “the right decision for everyone”.
Conte left Spurs by mutual consent on Sunday night after 16 months at the north London club.
His exit came after an extraordinary rant about his players after they gave up a 3-1 lead over last place Southampton.
Paratici was sympathetic towards Conte after his exit, as he said on the club’s social media: “We know how difficult this season has been for him personally.”
‘Gian Piero [Ventrone] dead, and [Gianluca] Vialli and [Sinisa] Mihajlovic, then his operation.

Antonio Conte left Tottenham by mutual agreement on Sunday after 16 months on the job

Fabio Paratici hsa has now described the move as the ‘right decision for everyone’
“The club has been very supportive of him on this and everyone [supported] but then we came to this mutual agreement and the decision we made was the right decision for everyone.
Cristian Stellini is set to lead Tottenham in Conte’s place until the end of the season after previously leading the team to their win over Manchester City, and the football director seemed confident he was well suited for the role.
“He has a lot of experience as a second and was first [team] coach a few years ago,” he said of Stellini.
“But then we have Ryan Mason who can help him a lot because he’s been with this club for a long time and he knows everything about this club and this group of players.
“So I think we’re really, really confident that these two people [team] can do a very good job.
“Players don’t have to change their habits or training style. To change everything with only 10 games left would be very difficult for the players.
Spurs have been heavily linked with former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann, but Paratici wouldn’t be drawn to speculation as he added: “We don’t want to talk about other managers.”
“We are focused and we are focused now on helping Cristian, the staff, Ryan, the players,” he said.

“I think today we have to focus on our team and our manager because it’s an important moment.”
Whoever is responsible, Spurs face a touch challenge this season if they are to qualify for Champions League football.
They sit in fourth place so far, but Newcastle are just two points behind them with two games less.
Tottenham will then be in action when they take on Everton on Monday.
