Emma Watson has “learned more about love and being a woman” over the past few years.
Emma Watson turned 33 this weekend
The ‘Harry Potter’ actress has reflected on the changes in her life after turning 33 on Saturday (15.04.23), which she attributed to her “return of Saturn”, an astrological concept when the planet is at the same celestial coordinates that it was at a person’s birth, which occurs approximately every 30 years and corresponds to a difficult period as the individual finally matures into adulthood.
Sharing a series of portraits, Emma wrote on Instagram: “It’s 33. Holy moly. Before 29 years, I hadn’t even heard of a Saturn Return as a concept. Let’s say that now I know myself well.
“I walked away from my life – I learned to surf (badly), I rode horses (it went better), I did a lot of therapy (YESS therapy!).
“My brother and I have joined forces @renaisspirits. I adopted Sofia from Mexico, who seems like an angel not a dog.
“We filmed a Harry Potter reunion. I said goodbye to my grandmother and my grandfather. I retraced my steps. I started an environmental investment fund for women.
“I played Pickleball with @sugarrayleonard and even played golf and then tried to teach all my girlfriends too.”
The ‘Little Women’ star spent months working “one-handed” after a cooking mishap and settled into healthier routines.
She continued: ‘I cut my thumbnail on both hands trying to cook for myself, then I was only able to do things with one hand for months.
“I felt really sad and really p**** about a lot of things. I learned more about love and being a woman.
“It took me three years, but I finally found a daily practice and I can actually keep it for more than a few days at a stretch. I burned some things. I eat green things now! I’ve become Obsessed with building Squarespace websites I did my first commercial.
The professional photos Emma shared on her birthday were actually taken when she turned 32 but she explained she ‘wasn’t ready’ to leave her ‘Covid Cocoon’ at the time .
The actress ended her message with a series of heartfelt thanks to her loved ones.
She wrote: “Thank you to the witches in my coven who have been so essential in helping me get to where and who I am now.
“You are my Avengers and you inspire me and kick my ass. It takes a village, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
“And finally – thanks to my brother @alex.s.watson for helping me find the hardest things, over time, incredibly funny. (sic)”
