Hours before her arraignment, Republican Mississippi Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith endorsed former President Donald Trump for the 2024 election. According to her statement, Hyde-Smith on Monday evening charged Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, to work on behalf of George Soros, who generously donated to a group that supported Bragg. She also called Trump’s indictment a “political punch” that has nothing to do with justice.
According to Hyde-Smith, “I think this will all backfire on the prosecutor and the Democrats.” The senator highlighted Trump’s positions on the country’s border, economy, taxes and energy independence, saying they made “America” better. She continued, “I support a return to those policies and the successful leadership of President Trump.”
“Mississipians can trust President Trump to continue to focus on our goals,” she added. “He has been responsive to Mississippi concerns and has made numerous trips here with officials in his administration.” Accordingly, I support Donald J. Trump for re-election as President and will work to help him secure the Republican nomination for President in 2024.
I invite my fellow Republicans in Mississippi and across the country to join me in supporting and defending President Trump.
According to The Hill, Senator Hyde-Smith is the sixth senator to support Trump in his campaign, joining Republican Senators Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, Tommy Tuberville of Alabama, Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma, Eric Schmitt of Montana and JD Vance. from Ohio. .
