Politics Girl has a few questions for those who vote Republican. She also nails it when she points out that while the Republican voter isn’t a racist, or a fascist, or a fanatic, or a greed-driven asshole, the fact that they always vote for those who are means that is still part of the problem. Unfortunately, many of them are all or part of these things. The good news is that they can change. For example, my late father had always been a staunch Republican, but when he saw what Scott Walker was doing at the state of Wisconsin, he was the first to sign the recall petitions I carried. Even though he never completely reversed his attitude, there were flaws in his hatred, which was better than nothing.
