Christopher Ruddy Career
On September 16, 1998, he launched Newsmax, an American conservative news and opinion website. Christopher founded the news station with a $25,000 donation from Tribune-Review owner Richard Mellon Scaife. This followed his time at the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. He then held 60% of the company, with Richard owning the balance. Richard died in 2014, at the age of 82.
Christopher began his career with The New York Guardian. He was the editor-in-chief at the time. He rose to prominence at The New York Guardian after exposing a lie in the PBS documentary Liberators: Fighting on Two Fronts in WWII. He then became an investigative reporter for the New York Post in the late summer of 1993.
He concentrated on the Whitewater scandal involving then-President Bill Clinton at the time. He later became a national correspondent for The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review in 1995. For the daily newspaper, Christopher covered the Clinton White House and other stories. He has also studied as a Media Fellow at the Hoover Institution. Christopher is also a member of the Financial Publishers Association’s board of directors.
He is a member of Henry Kissinger’s Center for Strategic and International Studies International Council. The think tank is based in Washington, D.C., and focuses on national security and foreign policy. From 2009 to 2013, Christopher sat on the board of directors of the American Swiss Foundation.
