Caught on video: Roswell, GA couple vow to seal dog door after vulture enters house; the doorbell camera captures the reaction

ROSWELL, Ga. — A vulture perched in the living room was not a sight a Roswell, Georgia couple expected when they returned home after being away for 15 minutes on June 10.

Footage recorded by Jacob Totri’s door camera shows him and his fiancée Vernalisa Rouguex entering the house and then fleeing.

Totri told Storyful that he and Rouguex instinctively “fleed the scene” after being startled by the “amazing” sight. They called their dog out before heading back into the house, with footage of Totri showing the scavenger in the living room.

“We’ll never open that dog door again,” Rouguex can be heard saying, after Totri said she thought the vulture used it to get into the house.

He said his fiancée armed herself with two umbrellas and chased the large bird from their house “in a triumphant Mary Poppins-esque stance”.

The bird eventually “found solace” in a nearby house, Totri said.
