Hollywood legend Billy Dee Williams set to join HBO cast sex and the city derivative series, And just like that… in its second season.
Williams will play the father of Nicole Ari Parker’s character, Lisa Todd Wexley, a documentarian, philanthropist, art collector and Upper East Side socialite.
The casting news was all but confirmed by Williams himself on Instagram, when he posted a photo alongside Parker and tagged the Max series in his caption.
“Standing back at work with @nicoleariparker,” he wrote. “BIG surprises next season!”

Now, Williams’ role has been officially confirmed by Parker during a recent press interview for the show’s upcoming second season.
And just like that… brings the audience back to the familiar world of sex and the city Carrie Bradshaw and her close-knit circle of friends. The original show, inspired by Candace Bushnell’s 1997 book, explored the romantic lives of four women in New York: Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte.
Running for six seasons from 1998 to 2004, the original series garnered critical acclaim, including four Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series in 2001.
And just like that… premiered in December 2021. The reboot’s first season received mixed reception among the original show’s dedicated fans, but its premiere earned the highest debut of any HBO series, as reported. Deadline.

HBO announced the reboot in January 2021, marking the return of main cast members Sara Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, except for Kim Cattrall, who left her role as Samantha.
Earlier this month, however, Cattrall confirmed that she would return for a cameo appearance as Samantha for the second season of the sex and the city to restart. Joining her on the show will be John Corbett, who returns to reprise his role as Aidan Shaw.
And just like that… premieres Thursday, June 22 on Max with two consecutive episodes. Subsequent episodes will air weekly on Thursdays.
