Christmas Ringtone tells the story of Nicole (Trenyce Cobbins), a former singing star who must deliver a music video by Christmas to revive her career. She runs into trouble when her manager-fiancé steals her money, forcing her to return home and seek help from her mother, Anne (Arischa Conner).
Nicole wants to access her trust fund, but Anne convinces her to become a choir director for their failing church. The choir is full of inspiring singers, but with guidance from Nicole and the support of her childhood friend Jesse, they unite and aim to win the next choir competition and its prize money. A win could save their church and give Nicole the career boost she needs.
The original film comes from Swirl Films and is part of BET+’s upcoming slate of holiday programming.
Christmas ringtone is directed by Patricia Cuffie-Jones from a screenplay she co-wrote with Gregory Adams.
A release date will be announced later.
