Months after seeking a protective order against him, a man followed his ex-girlfriend across state lines and killed her, authorities in Harrison County, Mississippi, said. Andrew Moore Luckhurst, 44, is charged with first-degree murder, according to local reports.
A man called 911 to report a medical emergency with CPR in progress, authorities said. Deputies said they arrived at a flat on Robinson Road to find both Luckhurst and the victim, Becky Endres, 62. Endres was dead, with bruises and fresh blood on her face and head. Authorities say she was strangled and suffered blunt force trauma. Endres reportedly had marks on his neck, showing signs of strangulation. Luckhurst was there for a visit despite the protective order, authorities said.
Records from Lake County, Florida show that Endres filed a “PETITION OF INJUNCTION PROTECTION AGAINST REPEATED ABUSE” on August 23 against Luckhurst. The case was closed on October 4.
Andrew Moore Luckhurst, 44, often appears in court cases out of the region dating back to a 1997 conviction for robbery. Other cases include a 2021 DUI case that ended in a guilty verdict, and a 2021 dropped battery case in which Endres was the victim,
“He’s going to kill me,” she told 911 dispatch in documents.
Luckhurst was charged on August 15, 2022 with assault and battery as a second offense, witness tampering and criminal mischief after a woman said Luckhurst beat her. Authorities redacted his name and relationship from the affidavit, which was filed shortly before Endres filed for the protective order.
Officers noted older bruising on his face, covering the majority of his left cheek and eye.
“She also had red marks around her neck, bruising on her left arm which she used to hold the right side of her rib cage as she winced in pain every time she took a deep breath,” police wrote. . She also had bruising and significant swelling on her right forearm, they said. Both incidents of abuse involved Luckhurst allegedly drinking.
There is a criminal mischief case on November 7, 2022 in which he allegedly smashed the windows of a 2022 Toyota Camry and snatched the keys from the hand of a woman who asked him for directions.
Police said they found him wearing just a t-shirt and underwear, and he was lying in a parking lot. He would have been unable to give his name or information.
“He was questioned several times and continued to say he was dead,” police wrote. “He had a clearly altered mental state, possibly due to the use of illicit narcotics.”
