Amy started her career as a project manager at a health insurance company and indulged in paranormal activities during weekends as a hobby. She had made a podcast about her experiences with ghosts, and it caught the eye of the makers of Ghost Hunters, a popular show by Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson from Rhode Island. They invited her to join them for an episode they were shooting in California. Amy thereafter left her office job and joined The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS).
