The film follows three friends as they plan to gain popularity by throwing a party, only to find things quickly getting out of control. The film is presented in a found footage home video style and was commercially successful, although the lead character’s behavior was criticized, along with the film’s disregard for the effects of drug use. However, many others perceived the film as thrilling though a string of large scale party incidents occurred after the film’s release led to blame, as these incidents were said to be inspired by the film.

During the same year, she gained her most notable role, playing the sex-crazed Barden Bella named Stacie Conrad in “Pitch Perfect”, a comedy film starring her alongside Anna Kendrick, Skylar Astin, Rebel Wilson and many more. The film follows the story of the Barden University’s all-girl a cappella group called The Barden Bellas, as they compete against others to help them win Nationals. The film is loosely based on the non-fiction book “Pitch Perfect: The Quest for Collegiate a Cappella Glory”.

After that success, Alexis appeared in the series “Super Fun Night” alongside “Pitch Perfect” co-star Rebel Wilson, however, the sitcom was short lived, and was cancelled after one season. She then starred in the film “So Undercover” as Taylor Jaffe, starring Miley Cyrus but was only released theatrically in 13 countries, not including the US where it was released direct-to-video. In 2013, she gained a role in the sitcom entitled “Ground Floor”, which follows a banker who falls in love with a maintenance supervisor working in the same building. Her character was dropped after the first season, and the show was later cancelled despite positive reviews.

After working on several other films, she then reprised her role as Stacie Conrad in the “Pitch Perfect” sequel “Pitch Perfect 2” released in 2015 with most of the main characters returning to reprise their roles. The Barden Bellas this time have to compete in a world singing championship, and the film gained positive reviews and surpassed the commercial success of the original film, making it the highest grossing music comedy film of all time, surpassing “School of Rock”. In 2017 she starred in the final film of the series, entitled “Pitch Perfect 3”, which features the Bellas reuniting for one last performance. Personal Life

For her personal life, it is known that Knapp dated actor Ryan Philippe in 2010; they split up after just a few months, but she discovered soon afterwards that she was pregnant with his child; he was present during their child’s birth the following year. She mentioned in an interview that she listens to a lot of hip hop music, including from Jay Z and Kanye West. She also enjoys classical music. She says that she was always the guys’ girl, having grown up with three brothers.
